Duffmusiq doesn't make music for trends — he makes music for keeps.
A Toronto-based producer, guitarist, and songwriter with roots stretching back to 2006, Duffmusiq has spent nearly two decades carving out a sound that refuses to be boxed in. His music lives at the intersection of blues, soul, jazz, and rock — raw enough to feel lived-in, polished enough to travel the world.
And travel it has. His compositions have been licensed for international film and television, including productions by Lionsgate, and most recently, his instrumental track "Bones" was selected for the Netflix documentary Norman's Rare Guitars — a placement that speaks to the timeless, cinematic quality of his guitar work. His music has also appeared in Midnight in the Switchgrass, Psych, Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, and Alles Is Liebe, among others.
With five self-produced albums to his name — including his latest self written blues-rock opus Stone Cold (2026) — Duffmusiq has never outsourced his vision. Every record is a complete world: conceived, built, and delivered entirely on his own terms. Stone Cold, a tribute to the late Memphis drummer Shamaka Ali (Al Green, S.O.S. Band, Bar-Kays), features vocalist Jill Zadeh (Janet Jackson, Sting, Christina Aguilera, Joss Stone) and stands as his most emotionally charged work to date.
His talent hasn't gone unnoticed by the industry either. At the Unsigned Only Music Competition in Nashville, his song "Ordinary Fool" earned the award for Best Blues Song — catching the ears of legendary figures including Linda Perry and The Cure's Robert Smith.
With over 45 albums produced and a catalogue that continues to grow, Duffmusiq is one of Toronto's most quietly accomplished independent artists — a musician's musician whose work keeps finding its way into the most unexpected and prestigious places.
