New release November 2025
STONE COLD
Fresh off the success of his composition “Bones” being licensed for the Netflix documentary Norman’s Rare Guitars, Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Duffmusiq is back with his fifth studio album, Stone Cold, a self-written and produced blues rock project hitting streaming platforms in November 2025. Combining gritty blues rock energy with soulful grooves, the album is both a personal journey and a tribute to the late drummer Shamaka Ali (Al Green, S.O.S. Band, Bar-Kays, United We Funk Allstars including Charlie Wilson, Con Funk Shun and Dazz Band ), mentor to Duff and fellow musicians, whose drum grooves are featured throughout the record.
With Jill Zadeh on lead vocal, Stone Cold delivers a collection of emotionally charged and dynamic tracks, including:
Stone Cold – a bold blues-rock anthem of resilience
Baby Please Don’t Let Me Go – a soulful plea ballad
Shadows and a Broken Heart – a mid tempo groovy ballad about escapism
Born to Shine – an uplifting celebration of perseverance and hope
“This album is my rawest and most honest work,” says Duffmusiq. “It’s a celebration of music, life, and the spirit of my dear friend Shamaka Ali, whose mentorship continues to inspire me and countless others.”
With previous music featured internationally and award-winning Unsigned Only The Best Blues Song “Ordinary Fool”—Duffmusiq continues to push the boundaries of blues, soul, and rock. Stone Cold is a testament to his signature sound and artistic evolution.
